Lorna was a stalwart of the Brightwater Horticultural Society for many years. She was an exemplary Treasurer for several of those years; her support and promotion of the Society were phenomenal.
She worked tirelessly during the local and National show presentations, always there during set-up and clean up afterwards. She also ran the plant stall propagating most of the plants herself, raising a lot of money for the Society.
Lorna and her late husband Keith were passionate and successful exhibitors of daffodils and many other flowers. They were both members of the National Daffodil Society. Lorna was awarded a Certificate of Recognition in 2015 for her efforts in promoting the growing and exhibiting of daffodils.
Organisations such as the Brightwater Horticultural Society would not exist if it weren’t for people like Lorna. She committed her time and energy to the Society’s success, especially during the flower shows. The Society will be forever grateful not only her efforts but also for having her as a member.
Lorna had been unwell and in a rest home for the past two years.
She will be remembered with fondness and missed dearly by members of the Brightwater Horticultural Society and everyone who knew her.
Vale Lorna Kerr.
